loren and i did a 5k together last saturday. it was such a great way to start the day! we got some fun medals--loren got 2nd in his age group, and i got 1st in mine. gwyneth took our picture--the kids were very proud of us!
I don't even know where to start - you guys are so awesome! I'm glad Gwyneth got a picture of both of you with your medals - you really look amazing - how is it that you look like a model for running gear instead of looking like someone who just ran a 5K? I have a feeling that I'm in for a big disappointment when I finally start running and realize that not everyone wins medals at every race they compete in - you are making it look too easy. I'm glad your kids are proud of you - they better realize what a hot mama they have!
I keep trying to talk Jeff into doing a race with me the weekend before Thanksgiving but he is totally not on board. I'd try to get you to come do it with me, but you'd have to crawl for me to keep up with you. I'm thinking I'll register in the 85 and older age group so my time won't look so pathetic. :-) You guys, on the other hand, look awesome!
Could you take a break for a second and let us average janes catch up! (Not that I ever will!) Congrats! You guys are awesome. I love Pace's shoe fetish...he is just too cute.

liesel: "here are the new requirements for a boyfriend: a fast car and nice shoes."
gwyneth: "i can't wait 'till i'm a mom and have an unlimited shoe budget."
gwyneth: "i was an only child for like 5 seconds. it was bliss, i'm sure."
gretchen: "i think when i blew my nose some of my hearing popped out."
gwyneth: "they didn't have technology back when mom was a kid."
gretchen: "mom, i just have to tell you one thing. you need to buy us more stuff."
gretchen: "this dinner is not making my day happy."
gwyneth: "so, mom. what do you miss most about being an omnivore?"
gretchen: "why do every place you have to pay money, and they get richer and richer? are they trying to be mean?"
gretchen: "i know the rules for when someone's hitting you. you just stay calm, and then when she's done hitting, you say 'no thanks'."
liesel: "who invented healthy, anyway?"
gretchen: "it tickles my brain when i do a summersault."
gwyneth: "did you notice me laughing with silent mirth?"

So are you doing a race a week now or something crazy like that?! You are putting us all to shame... :)
Good for you! Keep it up, you won't regret it for a minute. You almost make me wish I were 20 years younger again. Almost.
