we had a great halloween this year. we went to a ward party and got enough candy to last us for a year, so the kids opted to go to high school musical 3 on halloween night. i smuggled in lots of homemade treats for us, and we had a grand time. pace baby was even good. i'm hoping he forgets that he learned how to say "more cookie". hey, you gotta do what you gotta do, and if it involves millions of cookies, so be it.

gretchen: "i think when i blew my nose some of my hearing popped out."

gwyneth: "they didn't have technology back when mom was a kid."

gretchen: "mom, i just have to tell you one thing. you need to buy us more stuff."

gretchen: "this dinner is not making my day happy."

gwyneth: "so, mom. what do you miss most about being an omnivore?"

gretchen: "why do every place you have to pay money, and they get richer and richer? are they trying to be mean?"

gretchen: "i know the rules for when someone's hitting you. you just stay calm, and then when she's done hitting, you say 'no thanks'."

liesel: "who invented healthy, anyway?"

gretchen: "it tickles my brain when i do a summersault."

gwyneth: "did you notice me laughing with silent mirth?"

madeline: "my cookie slot is still not full."
